You Can Be of Service To Our Profession

I have continuously served on various National Committees since 2005.  I am currently serving my second term on the Resolutions Committee.

The Resolutions Committee is charged with conducting an annual call for resolutions and bylaws amendments and aiding resolution and bylaws authors in submitting a proposal.  Once bylaws amendments and resolutions are received from ENA members, the committee reviews the submissions to ensure they adhere to ENA guidelines and formatting requirements. Committee members liaison with authors from assigned states to provide support and guidance in the process. During General Assembly, the Resolutions Committee leads the reference committee hearings and assists with debate and vote from the floor, as well as considering discussion from the floor on day one. This information is sent to the delegation on the evening of day one and forms the agenda for day two of the General Assembly.

The Resolutions committee meets monthly with one on-site meeting in Schaumburg at ENA Headquarters.  The committee arrives early at the designated location for General Assembly and Annual Conference to set up and provide education for first-time delegates.  The Committee’s days start early and end late during General Assembly. The Committee work is rewarding as we assist in facilitating the voice of members to inform ENA’s positions and actions.

The committee is comprised of volunteers who serve a 2-year term and the President-Elect as Board Liaison.

I encourage all ENA members to be involved by considering submitting resolutions, bylaws changes, and volunteering for committee work.  I have found involvement in ENA to be one of the highlights of my career.
