Michelle Boyce, MSN, RN, ACNS-BC, NPD-BC, CEN, TCRN

Professional Biography

Michelle is an experienced emergency nurse with over 30 years of experience in the field. She has held various roles, including staff nurse, charge nurse, and clinical educator. Currently, she serves as the Franciscan Health Emergency Department Staff Development Coordinator, where she is dedicated to enhancing the skills and knowledge of nursing professionals to ensure the highest standards.

Michelle earned her associate degree in nursing in 1997 and her master's degree in adult health clinical nurse specialist from Indiana University in 2013. Michelle holds many certifications, including certified emergency nurse (CEN), trauma care registered nurse (TCRN), nursing professional development (NPD-BC), and clinical nurse specialist (ACNS-BC). Her certifications demonstrate her dedication to education and professional development.

ENA Involvement

Michelle's dedication to the ENA is evidenced by her lifetime membership and active involvement since 2005. Her leadership roles at the local and state levels, including the 2023 Indiana ENA President and the 2015 local chapter president, Indy Roadrunners, are examples of her commitment. Michelle has served as the Education Chair for the Indy Roadrunners for the last five years, aligning with the ENA's mission to advance excellence in emergency nursing through education and advocacy.

Michelle believes in empowering fellow nurses to deliver exceptional care and drive positive change in healthcare. This belief is not just a professional stance but a personal value that she brings to her role as a nursing leader.


Secretary Candidate

Melanie Anne Russell, MSN RN CPEN CEN

professional biography

I am a mother of four children and grandmother to 10 grandchildren. Most people call me Geeg. I worked 40 years at St. Vincent Hospital and started working in the ED in 1990. I found my passion for emergency nursing and never looked back. I am currently working as a nurse educator for Riverview Health, running the AHA program along with new nurse education and continual education for all five facilities. I teach ACLS. BLS, PALS, and TB classes through the ALA, Stop the Bleed and have taught ENPC for ENA. I feel like I am a lifelong learner. I have been an active member of the ENA since 1992 and am a lifetime member.

ena INVOLVEMENT

I have served as the President of Chapter 134, President of the State in 2020, and Secretary along with other volunteer positions (Injury prevention. membership, Government Affairs, and scholarship committee.

Why are you interested in serving? 

I am currently the secretary for the state and am honored to volunteer for another two years if elected.
